Frequently asked questions

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. The file is read into the browser’s memory and processed with FFmpeg.wasm on your device. There is no upload endpoint and no server-side copy.

What video formats are supported?

MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio works best. MOV, WebM, MKV, AVI and MPEG-TS are also supported when the browser and FFmpeg build can decode them.

What does 9:16 mean?

9:16 is the vertical aspect ratio used by TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and similar feeds. This tool exports 1080×1920, 720×1280 or 540×960 MP4 files.

Does the tool add a watermark?

No. There are no watermarks, overlays or branding added to your clips.

Why does the first run download about 32 MB?

The FFmpeg WebAssembly engine is loaded once. This server caches it and your browser caches it, so later runs are much faster.

Can I split a video by scene changes?

This version splits by fixed clip length or into a chosen number of equal clips. Scene detection is not included.

What is the maximum file size?

The interface accepts files up to 500 MB, but available memory is the real limit. On phones, files above roughly 100–150 MB may be slow or fail.
